Our History
Since its creation in 1872, the Club Vosgien has worked to promote and make accessible to as many people as possible the remarkable sites of the Vosges Massif: mountain peaks, medieval castles, waterfalls and lakes, small valleys, rock formations, and scenic landscapes.
More than 28,000 volunteer members mobilize each year to mark and maintain 20,000 km of trails, train hiking guides, install and maintain tourist facilities, as well as protect the environment and biodiversity and promote the regional heritage
La section du Nideck
1949
Creation of the Nideck Section
The Club Vosgien Nideck section was founded in 1949 by Father Klein from the village of Oberhaslach. Its headquarters were located at the Saint Florent Hermitage. In the 1960s, the Marin Braun family, owners of the site, donated the building and the surrounding land to the Club Vosgien Nideck section (now the Camping du Luttenbach).
1962 - Today
Creation of the Campsite
The volunteers of the Club Vosgien, in order to be closer to the field to clear and maintain the GR5 trail, began camping on site. They transformed the building into a restaurant and lodge with an adjoining campsite. Thus, the campsite was born in 1962.
